VeePN Review 2026

During our deep-dive audit of VeePN, we found a three-protocol stack covering WireGuard, OpenVPN (UDP and TCP), and IKEv2/IPsec, all enforcing AES-256-GCM encryption with Perfect Forward Secrecy via ECDHE key exchange on every new session. The 2,500-server network is a mix of dedicated and virtual server nodes across 60 countries, with the company headquartered in the British Virgin Islands — a jurisdiction with no mandatory data-retention legislation and no mutual legal assistance treaty with the US. The Double VPN mode chains traffic through two sequentially encrypted hops in different countries before exit, adding a second layer of encryption and splitting knowledge of the source IP and the destination between two independent servers.

The NetGuard malware blocking operates as a DNS-based filter: when an application attempts to resolve a domain flagged in VeePN's threat intelligence database (updated daily from multiple commercial and open-source threat feeds), the DNS response is intercepted and returns a null route, preventing the connection before it is established. This approach blocks malware C2 communications, phishing domains, and ad trackers at the network layer rather than the browser layer, meaning it applies to all applications on the device — not just web browsers with extension support.
