Surfshark Review 2026

During our deep-dive audit of Surfshark, we examined its Camouflage Mode, which rewrites packet headers to make VPN traffic indistinguishable from standard HTTPS—bypassing ISP-level Deep Packet Inspection without relying on port 443 alone. The network supports three tunneling protocols (WireGuard, OpenVPN UDP/TCP, and IKEv2/IPsec), all enforcing AES-256-GCM encryption with a 2048-bit RSA handshake and per-session Perfect Forward Secrecy. The entire 3,200-server fleet runs on diskless RAM-only infrastructure, verified by independent security firm Cure53 in 2023.

The Dynamic MultiHop feature allows you to independently select both entry and exit country from any two servers in the network—a capability typically found only in enterprise routing solutions. Unlike static double-hop configurations, Surfshark's implementation keeps the hop routing fully client-side, so no single server knows both your real IP and your final destination simultaneously.
